Je tenais à partager quelques lignes et impressions sur une belle initiative vélotouristique: il GRAB à Rome. L’idée est de pouvoir faire le tour de la ville éternelle uniquement sur des pistes cyclables ou à travers les beaux parcs de Rome. Le nom GRAB est un détournement de l’acronyme GRA “Grande Raccordo Anulare” qui est utilisé pour nomer l’équivalent du “péripherique” à Rome et de B pour Bici.
Le circuit permet de découvrir les “classiques” de la capitale italienne comme le Colisée, l’île Tibérine ou l’antique voie romaine “la via Appia”. Mais il vous guidera également loin des pavés battus par le tourisme de masse comme le long de la bucolique vallée de l’Aniene au nord de la ville ou à travers le quartier populaire du Quadraro, siège du mouvement street Art M.U.Ro.
C’est avec plaisir que je me suis dérouillé les jambes la semaine dernière sur cet anneau. La signalétique et l’accessibilité ne sont pas encore optimales mais le projet innitié par Alberto Fiorillo de l’association velolove et Legambiante est maintenant soutenu par de nombreux acteurs locaux et par la mairie de Rome.
Bonne chance à eux et j’ai hate de refaire le parcours dans 3-4 ans avec ma petite famille pour voir la réalisation finale !

I would share with you my first feeling on an great initiative for biketouring romantics: il GRAB in Rome. The idea is to be able to cycle safely around the eternal city crossing the most famous places and parks. The name GRAB is an acronym of GRA “Grande Raccordo Anulare” which is the name of the highway around Rome and B for Bike
Following the gps trace you will visit the “classics” of the Italian capital like the colosseum, the Tiber Island or the antic roman way “la Via Appia“. In addition the path will drive you around some more hidden places like the bucolic eco-valley of Aniene in the Nord of Rome or through the popular district Quadraro where the street Art group
M.U.Ro is very activ.
I have had fun last week to ride this circuit. The accessibility and the information along the path are still not optimum but this project started by Alberto Fiorillo from the associations velolove et Legambiante is now supported by numerous local communities and by the cityhall of Rome.
Good luck and I hope that I will have the chance to ride with my small family on this finalised project in 3-4 years.
